"Olympic National Park and Olympic Nation Forest"

Imagine walking through a pathway surrounded by trees almost 100 feet tall, footsteps silenced by layers of moss, pine needles and the old wood of 1000s of years. You smell warm evergreen forest and sunshine with a light breeze deeply surrounded by ferns and leaves. This is the experience everywhere you do in this olympic peninsula region of WA between seattle and the ocean. The rivers here are mixed with hot springs warm water, and there are tons of hikes, drives, swimming holes and endless adventure. The temperate rainforest is a key destination that you must see!

Close to the Juan de Fuca and ocean by La Push and Rialto beach. Best in June- End of August.

Iconic Mt rainier to the north, and Well known Mt St Helens to the south.

The perfect middle ground for 2 weeks of exploration with endless drives, hikes, rivers and breathtaking scenery. The rainy season is minimal Mid June to Late August. Snow may still be possible in higher elevations campground in June (ohanapecosh is lowest elevation).

Some campgrounds and roads are year round to accommodate full hookups for winter hiking and exploring too!

North cascades National Forest (Mt. Baker Area) Gorgeous area full of green, moss, ferns and semi-humid semi-dry. Great hiking and well forested campgrounds. Lake is Warm early in the year from being low elevation with rock bottom. Baker and Lower lake for fishing are good also. There are many surrounding lakes and free wilderness camping all over the national forests in WA, and especially here. This area does involve crossing Stevens Pass so not a great visit November to early March. Check out Lake Ross and Lake Diablo also! *All forest campground are no hookups with toilets and potable water with a dump station typically.
